Our Commitment to Privacy

At Sunrah.io, we advocate for safety and security. We respect your privacy and practice data minimization: our free chart and numerology calculators run entirely in your browser, and we only collect personal data when it is genuinely needed to provide a feature you choose to use — namely creating an account, purchasing a membership, or ordering a report. This Privacy Policy explains, honestly and specifically, what we collect, why, who processes it, and how long we keep it.

Free Calculators Run in Your Browser

When you use our free astrology and numerology tools, the name, birth date, birth time, and location you enter are processed entirely within your browser to compute your chart. That birth data is not transmitted to or stored on our serversfor the free calculators, and we do not save your results. The exceptions are the location lookup described next, and — only if you are a member and choose to — the birth profile you save to your account (see “Your Saved Birth Profile” below).

Location Search

To help you select a birth or relocation place, our city search box sends only the text you type (for example, “Paris”) to a Sun☉Rah server endpoint, which returns matching cities and their coordinates from our own self-hosted city database. We do not operate this lookup through any third-party geocoding service, we do not attach your name or birth date to it, and we do not retain the search text after the response is returned. The coordinates are then used in your browser to compute your chart.

Accounts & Sign-In (Optional)

Signing in is optional and is only needed for members. We use passwordless “magic link” sign-in: you enter your email address, and we email you a one-time link. To operate this, we store your email and short-lived sign-in tokens, and we set a signed, http-only session cookie in your browser to keep you logged in. This cookie is strictly necessary for authentication and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Memberships & Payments

When you purchase a membership or a report, payment is handled by Stripe, our payment processor. You enter your card details directly with Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers. For each purchase we receive and store limited billing information from Stripe, including your email address, Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, your subscription status, and the amount paid. We use this to activate and manage your membership and to apply member pricing.

Your Saved Birth Profile (Members)

Active members can optionally save their own birth details — birth date, birth time (if provided), birth coordinates (latitude and longitude), and an optional place label — to their account. We use this saved profile to generate your recurring member features (daily transits, celestial events, and the auspicious-days calendar) for your own chart. Unlike the free calculators, this profile is intentionally stored on our servers, linked to your account, so your personalized readings are available each time you sign in. It is used only to provide these member features, is not shared for advertising, and is never sold.

We never store your name for transits. These readings are computed purely from birth date, time, and coordinates, so your name is not needed and is not kept on our servers — it is only used by the free, in-browser numerology calculator, which never sends it to us. You can view, download, or delete your saved birth profile at any time from your account page (“Your data & privacy”), with no need to email us.

Report Orders

If you order a personalized report, we store the details needed to prepare and deliver it. This includes your email address and the birth details you enter for the report(such as name, birth date, birth time, and birthplace — and, for relationship reports, the same details for a partner). Unlike the free calculators, this information is intentionally saved on our servers and shared with the person who hand-writes your report so the report can be produced and emailed to you. Please only submit a partner’s details with their knowledge.

Email We Send You

We use a third-party email delivery provider to deliver transactional email — sign-in links, membership confirmations and cancellation notices, and report deliveries. These are service messages tied to your account or purchase, not marketing.

Analytics & Cookies

For privacy-respecting, aggregate usage statistics we use Simple Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first analytics service. It does not use cookies, does not create a profile of you, does not collect personally identifiable information, and does not track you across other websites. It also honors your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting. We configure it to record only aggregate, non-identifying data — such as page views and clicks on outbound links, email links, and downloads (by page title, not full URLs). We do not run advertising trackers such as Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel, and we do not sell your personal information.

Why there is no cookie banner:we do not set any tracking or advertising cookies. The only cookie we use is the strictly-necessary, signed session cookie described under “Accounts & Sign-In” above, which is exempt from consent requirements because it is essential to provide a service you requested (staying signed in). Since no consent-requiring cookies are set, no cookie consent banner is needed.

Service Providers We Share Data With

We share the limited data above only with the processors that operate these features on our behalf:

A payment processor — payment processing and subscription billing.
An email delivery provider — sending transactional and sign-in email.
A database provider — hosting our membership and report-order records.
A session and rate-limiting store — storing sign-in tokens and rate-limiting data.
A hosting provider — hosting and serving the website.
An analytics provider — cookieless, aggregate usage statistics (no personal data).
Our report writer — receives report-order details solely to prepare your report.

Data Retention

Sign-in tokens are short-lived and expire automatically. Membership records (including any birth profile you save), and report-order records, are retained while your account or order is active and for as long as we need them to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You may ask us to delete data we are not required to keep, including your saved birth profile.

Your Choices & Rights

You can use all free calculators without an account. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights — or to request deletion of your account, membership data, or a report order — contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

For Visitors in the EU, EEA & UK (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union, European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, the following applies to the personal data we process.

What we process and why (lawful basis):

Account email & sign-in tokens — to authenticate you and keep you signed in. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (and our legitimate interest in account security).
Membership & billing data (email, subscription identifiers and status, amount paid) — to provide and manage your paid membership. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, and legal obligation for tax and accounting records.
Saved birth profile (birth date, optional time, coordinates, optional place label — no name) — to generate your member features. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
Report-order details — to prepare and deliver a report you ordered. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.

Data minimization: we collect only what a feature needs. Notably, we do not store your name to compute transits, and our free calculators store nothing on our servers at all.

No special-category profiling or selling: we do not treat your astrology or numerology data as special-category data, we do not use it to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell your personal data or use it for cross-site advertising.

Your rights: you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. For your saved birth profile, you can do this yourself instantly from your account page (download or delete); for anything else, contact us using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

International transfers:we and our service providers (for hosting, database, payment, and email delivery) operate from the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses offered by those providers.

Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services evolve. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
